In the spring of 2006, I unexpectedly found myself in the nurturing embrace of the Yasodhara Ashram on the shores of Kootenay Lake, B.C. I had arrived in search of respite, food, and healing. I left with tools to access my inner wisdom and open to up a whole new perspective on my life and my own potential.

The supportive energy of the Ashram was immediately palpable on my first arrival in June 2006. I instantly fell in love with the place and had a sense that this was the beginning of an important path for me.

I was welcomed by a personal community liaison: a young woman named Robyn from Toronto. She had participated in the 3-month Yoga Development Course that year. I don’t remember what we talked about but I remember her sense of presence, calm, wisdom and confidence. As we sat on a bench overlooking the sparkling lake, I experienced a strong inner longing. Somehow, I would figure out how to take 3 months away to take the Yoga Development Course.
I finally had the opening in my life to participate in the Yoga Development Course in 2015. It was the most precious gift I have ever given myself. The practice of Yasodhara Yoga over the last 12 years has allowed me to transform my perspective on myself and life, and to experience life on a deeper level. I developed more kindness towards myself and a greater sense of awareness of my inner thoughts, feelings, desires, and knowings.

Yasodhara Yoga is different than other yoga practices. It is a reflective spiritual approach to yoga that provides tools for you to access your own inner wisdom, to nurture yourself, and to create inner-informed changes in your life. If you find you need a change of pace, want to re-examine your priorities and choices, or want to make changes in your life, Yasodhara Yoga offers tools and space for you to find your answers.
